Revelation 19:6-7 – “Then I heard what sounded like a great multitude, like the roar of rushing waters and like loud peals of thunder, shouting: ‘Hallelujah!  For our Lord God Almighty reigns.  Let us rejoice and be glad and give Him glory!  For the wedding of the Lamb has come, and His bride has made herself ready.’

“Revelation 19:8 – “Fine linen, bright and clean, was given her to wear. (Fine linen stands for the righteous acts of the saints.)”

Revelation 19:4 – “The twenty-four elders and the four living creatures fell down and worshipped God, who was seated on the throne.  And they cried: ‘Amen, Hallelujah!’ “

Revelation 19:9 – “Then the angel said to me, ‘Write: “Blessed are those who are invited to the wedding supper of the Lamb!” ‘  And he added, ‘These are the true words of God.’ “

Revelation 19:10 – “At this I fell at the angel’s feet to worship him.  But he said to me: ‘Do not do it!  I am a fellow-servant with you and with your brothers who hold to the testimony of Jesus.  Worship God!  For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.’ “

The Wedding Feast

wedding feast“On this mountain (Mount Zion) the Lord Almighty will prepare a feast of rich food for all peoples, a banquet (the wedding feast of the Lamb, in Jerusalem) of aged wine – the best of meats and the finest of wines.  On this mountain He will destroy the shroud that enfolds all peoples, the sheet that covers all nations; He will swallow up death for ever.  The Sovereign Lord will wipe away the tears from all faces; He will remove the disgrace of His people from all the earth.  The Lord has spoken.” – Isaiah 25:6-8

“New wine will drip from the mountains and flow from all the hills.” – Amos 9:13

“But when you give a banquet, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind, and you will be blessed.  Although they cannot repay you, you will be repaid at the resurrection of the righteous.” – Luke 14:13-14

In that day:

  • ” ‘In that day,’ declares the Lord, ‘you will call me “my husband”; you will no longer call me “my master”.  I will remove the names of the Baals from her lips; no longer will their names be invoked.  In that day I will make a covenant for them with the beasts of the field and the birds of the air and the creatures that move along the ground.  Bow and sword and battle I will abolish from the land, so that all may lie down in safety.  I will betroth you to me for ever; I will betroth you in righteousness and justice, in love and compassion.  I will betroth you in faithfulness, and you will acknowledge the Lord.  In that day I will respond,’ declares the Lord – ‘I will respond to the skies, and they will respond to the earth; and the earth will respond to the grain, the new wine and oil, and they will respond to Jezreel [means: ‘God plants’].  I will plant her for myself in the land; I will show my love to the one I called, ‘Not my loved one’.  I will say to those called ‘Not my people,’ ‘You are my people’; and they will say, ‘You are my God’. ” – Hosea 2:16-23
  • “In that day the Branch of the Lord will be beautiful and glorious, and the fruit of the earth will be the pride and the adornment of the survivors of Israel.  It will come about that he who is left in Zion and remains in Jerusalem will be called holy – everyone who is recorded for life in Jerusalem.  When the Lord has washed away the filth of the daughters of Zion and purged the bloodshed of Jerusalem from her midst, by the spirit of judgment and the spirit of burning, then the Lord will create over the whole area of Mount Zion and over her assemblies a cloud by day, even smoke, and the brightness of a flaming fire by night; for over all the glory will be a canopy.  There will be a shelter to give shade from the heat by day, and refuge and protection from the storm and the rain.” – Isaiah 4:2-6
  • “Then in that day the nations will resort to the root of Jesse, who will stand as a signal for the peoples; and His resting place will be glorious.” – Isaiah 11:10
  • “In that day you will say: ‘I will praise you, O Lord.  Although you were angry with me, your anger has turned away and you have comforted me.  Surely God is my salvation; I will trust and not be afraid.  The Lord, the Lord, is my strength and my song; he has become my salvation!’  With joy you will draw water from the fountains of salvation.  In that day you will say: ‘Give thanks to the Lord, all on His name; make known among the nations what He has done, and proclaim that His name is exalted.  Sing to the Lord, for He has done glorious things; let this be known to all the world.  Shout aloud and sing for joy, people of Zion, for great is the Holy One of Israel among you.’ ” – Isaiah 12:1-6
  • “In that day men will look to their Maker and turn their eyes to the Holy One of Israel.” – Isaiah 17:7
  • “Then you will know that I, the Lord your God, dwell in Zion, my holy hill.  Jerusalem will be holy; never again will foreigners invade her.  In that day the mountains will drip new wine, and the hills will flow with milk; all the ravines of Judah will run with water.  A fountain will flow out of the Lord’s house and will water the valley of acacias.” – Joel 3:17-18
  • ” ‘Shout and be glad, O Daughter of Zion.  For I am coming, and I will live among you,’ declares the Lord.  ‘Many nations will be joined with the Lord in that day and will become my people.  I will live among you and you will know that the Lord Almighty has sent Me to you.  The Lord will inherit Judah as His portion in the holy land and will again choose Jerusalem.  Be still before the Lord, all mankind, because He has roused Himself from His holy dwelling.’ ” – Zechariah 2:10-13
