The Grace of the Lord Jesus

“The grace of the Lord Jesus be with all.  Amen.” – Revelation 22:21

The above Scripture is the very last verse in the entire Bible -the final word.

“And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth.” – John 1:14

“For of His fullness we have all received, and grace upon grace.” – John 1:16

“For the Law was given through Moses; grace and truth were realized through Jesus Christ.” – John 1:17

We can never exhaust the riches of the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ.  When we receive Him as Lord and saviour, we receive grace upon grace – that is, one grace after another.

The Lord’s grace is available to all of us at all times – in all aspects of life and for every problem and need we face.

The Following is a Selection of Verses

We have received His saving grace:

“For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, so that no one may boast.” – Ephesians 2:8-9

“For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all men.” – Titus 2:11

“But we believe that we are saved through the grace of the Lord Jesus.” – Acts 15:11

“And now I commend you to God and to the word of His grace, which is able to build you up and to give you the inheritance among all those who are sanctified.” – Acts 20:32

We also receive His justifying grace having the very righteousness of Christ credited to our account:

“… being justified as a gift by His grace through the redemption which is in Christ Jesus” – Romans 3:24

“…so that being justified by His grace we would be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.” – Titus 3:7

His serving grace – the grace that allows us to pursue good works:

“Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear.” – Hebrews 12:28

“As each one has received a special gift, employ it in serving one another as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.” – 1 Peter 4:10

The serving grace as mentioned above includes bringing others to Christ:

“of which I was made a minister, according to the gift of God’s grace which was given to me according to the working of His power” – Ephesians 3:7

“Jesus Christ our Lord, through whom we have received grace and apostleship to bring about the obedience of faith among all the Gentiles for His name’s sake.” – Romans 1:4-5

His working grace:

“But by the grace of God I am what I am, and His grace toward me did not prove vain; but I labored even more than all of them, yet not I, but the grace of God with me.” – 1 Corinthians 15:10

It is a standing grace enabling us to stand confidently in our grace-given salvation:

“Jesus Christ through whom also we have obtained our introduction by faith into this grace in which we stand; and we exult in hope of the glory of God.” – Romans 5:1-2

There is more, for we need grace in times of testing and opposition – He gives strengthening grace and sufficient grace for every need:

“Therefore let us draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.” – Hebrews 4:16

“and Stephen, full of grace and power” – Acts 6:8

“He gives a greater grace.” – James 4:6

“Be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.” – 2 Timothy 2:1-2

“for it is good for the heart to be strengthened by grace” – Hebrews 13:9

“ ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness.’ ” – 2 Corinthians 12:9

The grace of Christ is truly abounding grace:

“God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that always having all sufficient in everything, you may have an abundance for every good deed.” – 2 Corinthians 9:8

“Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord.” – 2 Peter 1:2

“And with great power the apostles were giving testimony to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and abundant grace was upon them all.” – Acts 4:33

It is giving grace:

“But just as you abound in everything, in faith and utterance and knowledge and in all earnestness and in the love we inspired in you, see that you abound in this gracious work also.” – 2 Corinthians 8:7

God’s grace frees us from the slavery of sin:

“For sin shall not be master over you, for you are not under law but under grace.” – Romans 6:14

Therefore, we should continually:

“grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.” – 2 Peter 3:18

God’s grace enables us to be all that God intends us to be.  God’s grace is amazing indeed.

God of all grace:

“After you have suffered for a little while, the God of all grace, who called you to His eternal glory in Christ, will Himself perfect, confirm, strengthen and establish you.” – 1 Peter 5:10

“To the praise of the glory of His grace.” – Ephesians 1:6
