The Water of Life – The Lord Jesus Christ

The following are Scripture verses about the Water of Life – The Lord Jesus Christ:

“The Lamb in the centre of the throne will be their shepherd, and will guide them to springs of the water of life; and God will wipe every tear from their eyes.” – Revelation 7:17

“Then He said to me, ‘It is done.  I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end.  I will give to the one who thirsts from the spring of the water of life without cost.  He who overcomes will inherit these things, and I will be his God and he will be My son.’ ” – Revelation 21:6-7

“Then he showed me a river of the water of life, clear as crystal, coming from the throne of God and of the Lamb, in the middle of the street.  On either side of the river was the tree of life, bearing twelve kinds of fruit, yielding its fruit every month; and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.” – Revelation 22:1-2

“The Spirit and the bride say, ‘Come’.  And let the one who hears say, ‘Come’.  And let the one who is thirsty come; let the one who wishes take the water of life without cost.” – Revelation 22:17

‘If anyone is thirsty, let him come to Me and drink.  To the one who believes in Me, it is just as the Scripture has said: “Streams of living water will flow from within him.” ‘  He was speaking about the Spirit, whom those who believed in Him were later to receive. For the Spirit has not yet been given, because Jesus had not yet been glorified.” – John 7:38-39

Water from the Rock:

“Then all the congregation of the sons of Israel journeyed by stages from the wilderness of Sin, according to the command of the Lord, and camped at Rephidim, and there was no water for the people to drink.  Therefore the people quarreled with Moses and said, ‘Give us water that we may drink.’  And Moses said to them, ‘Why do you quarrel with me?  Why do you test the Lord?’  But the people thirsted there for water; and they grumbled … So Moses cried out to the Lord … Then the Lord said to Moses, ‘Pass before the people … and take in your hand your staff with which you struck the Nile, and go.  Behold, I will stand before you there on the rock at Horeb; and you shall strike the rock and water will come out of it, that the people may drink.’ ” – Exodus 17:1-6

“Then the sons of Israel … stayed at Kadesh. … there was no water for the congregation, and they assembled themselves against Moses and Aaron.  … Then Moses and Aaron came in from the presence of the assembly to the doorway of the tent of meeting and fell on their faces.  Then the glory of the Lord appeared to them; and the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, ‘Take the rod; and you and your brother Aaron assemble the congregation  and speak to the rock before their eyes, that it may yield its water.  You shall thus bring forth water for them out of the rock and let the congregation and their beasts drink.’  So Moses took the rod from before the Lord, … and he said to them, ‘Listen now, you rebels; shall we bring forth water for you out of this rock?’  Then Moses struck the rock twice with his rod; and water came forth abundantly, and the congregation and the beasts drank.  But the Lord said to Moses and Aaron, ‘Because you have not believed Me, to treat Me as holy in the sight of the sons of Israel, therefore you shall not bring this assembly into the land which I have given them.’ ” – Numbers 20:1-12
