7th Trumpet and The Rapture

The Son of Man’s Return

Christ’s Second Coming and The Rapture – at the Seventh Trumpet

The Rapture takes place – at the 7th Trumpet – believers are caught up in the air to be with the Lord; before Armageddon.

“We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed – in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet.  For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will rise up, incorruptible.  And we shall be transformed.” – 1 Corinthians 15:51-52  “Death has been swallowed up in victory.” – 1 Corinthians 15:54

“For the Lord Himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first.  After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air.  And so we will be with the Lord for ever.” – 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17

The Seventh Trumpet:

The seventh angel sounded his trumpet, and there were loud voices in heaven which said: ‘The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of His Christ, and He will reign forever and ever.’ ” – Revelation 11:15

The Rapture:

Revelation 14:14 – “Then I looked, and behold, a white cloud, and sitting on the cloud was one like a son of man, having a golden crown on His head and a sharp sickle in His hand.”

  • “Behold, He is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see Him, even those who pierced Him; and all the tribes of the earth will mourn over Him.  So it is to be.  Amen.” – Revelation 1:7
  • ” ‘At that time the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and all the nations of the earth will mourn.  They will see the Son of Manson of man coming on the clouds of the sky, with power and great glory.  And He will send His angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather His elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other.’ ” – Matthew 24:29-31
  • ” ‘You will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of Power, and coming on the clouds of heaven.’ ” – Matthew 26:64
  • “ ‘At that time men will see the Son of Man coming in clouds with great power and glory.  And He will send His angels and gather His elect from the four winds, from the ends of the earth to the ends of the heavens.’ ” – Mark 13:26
  • ” ‘I Am; and you shall see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of Power and coming with the clouds of heaven.’ ” – Mark 14:62
  • “ ‘There will be signs in the sun, moon and stars.  On the earth, nations will be in anguish and perplexity at the roaring and tossing of the sea.  Men will faint from terror, apprehensive of what is coming on the world, for the heavenly bodies will be shaken.  At that time they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.  When these things begin to take place, stand up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is drawing near.’ ” – Luke 21:25-28
  • “They also said, ‘Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking into the sky?  This Jesus, who has been taken up from you into heaven, will come in just the same way as you have watched Him go into heaven.’ ” – Acts 1:11
  • ‘The Son of Man Presented’: “ ‘In my vision at night I looked, and there before me was one like a son of man, coming with the clouds of heaven.  He approached the Ancient of Days and was led into His presence.  He was given authority, glory and sovereign power; all peoples, nations and men of every language worshipped Him.  His dominion is an everlasting dominion that will not pass away, and His kingdom is one that will never be destroyed.’ ” – Daniel 7:13-14

Revelation 14:17-18 – “And another angel came out of the temple which is in heaven, and he also had a sharp sickle.  Then another angel, the one who has power over fire, came out from the altar; and he called with a loud voice to him who had the sharp sickle, saying, ‘Put in your sharp sickle and gather the clusters from the vine of the earth, because her grapes are ripe.’ “

  • ” ‘So it will be at the end of the age; the angels will come forth and take out the wicked from among the righteous, and will throw them into the furnace of fire; in that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’ ” – Matthew 13:49
  • “His winnowing fork is in His hand to clear His threshing floor and to gather the wheat into His barn.  But He will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.” – Luke 3:17
  • ” ‘First gather up the tares and bind them in bundles to burn them up; but gather the wheat into my barn.’ ” – Matthew 13:30

Revelation 14:19 – “So the angel swung his sickle to the earth and gathered the clusters from the vine of the earth, and threw them into the great wine press of the wrath of God.”

Revelation 14:15 – “And another angel Son of Mancame out of the temple, crying out with a loud voice to Him who sat on the cloud, ‘Put in your sickle and reap, for the hour to reap has come, because the harvest of the earth is ripe.’ ”

  • “For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first.  Then we who are alive and remain will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we shall always be with the Lord.” – 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17
  • “Behold, I tell you a mystery; we will not all sleep, but we will all be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet; for the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed.” – 1 Corinthians 15:50-52
  • ” ‘I tell you, on that night there will be two in one bed; one will be taken and the other will be left.  There will be two women grinding at the same place; one will be taken and the other will be left.  Two men will be in the field; one will be taken and the other will be left.’ ” – Luke 17:34-36
  • “But your dead will live; their bodies will rise.  You who dwell in the dust, wake up and shout for joy.  Your dew is like the dew of the morning; the earth will give birth to her dead.” – Isaiah 26:19
  • “In that day the Lord will start His threshing from the flowing stream of the Euphrates to the brook of Egypt, and you will be gathered up one by one, O sons of Israel.  It will come about also in that day that a great trumpet will be blown, and those who were perishing in the land of Assyria and who were scattered in the land of Egypt will come and worship the Lord in the holy mountain at Jerusalem.” – Isaiah 27:12-13
  • ” ‘But when the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the angels with Him, then He will sit on His glorious throne.  All the nations will be gathered before Him; and He will separate them from one another, as the shepherd separates the sheep from the goats.’ ” – Matthew 25:31-32
  • ” ‘No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him; and I will raise him up on the last day.’ ” – John 6:44

The seventh trumpet sounds and the Lord Jesus Christ returns for His glorious Second Coming and raptures His saints, on the last day – the Day of the Lord.

The Day of the Lord will also be Judgment Day for the wicked.  The Rapture is just the beginning of the last day.  The Lord’s wrath will be poured out full strength on all the world.
