The Beast’s 42 months are completed now and the saints are in heaven:
“It would be be for a time, times, and half a time; and as soon as they finish shattering the power of the holy people, all these events will be completed.” – Daniel 12:7
Revelation 6:11 – “until the number of their fellow servants and their brethren who were to be killed even as they had been, would be completed also.”
The persecution of the believers in the Lord Christ Jesus has now been ‘completed also’. Not all Christians lose their lives – the remaining will experience the Rapture. The Dragon, the Beast and the False Prophet’s time is completed and God’s wrath is next.
There are limited details in the Bible prophesying the actual persecution period once the Dragon gives the Beast his power and his throne and great authority.
However it does state:
“For then there will be a great tribulation, such as has not occurred since the beginning of the world until now, nor ever will.” – Matthew 24:21
“For those days will be a time of tribulation such as has not occurred since the beginning of the creation which God created until now and never will.” – Mark 13:19 – both Scripture passages spoken by the Lord Christ Jesus.
Daniel 12:1 – “There will be a time of distress such as never occurred since there was a nation until that time.”
Noah and his three sons were ‘a nation’ following the Great Flood.
70 nations were eventually established in Babel after the Flood, according to scholars. “The Table of Nations” in Genesis 10 lists Noah’s descendants. It was after this that God scattered these 70 nations abroad over the face of the whole earth.
So there has never been a time of distress throughout all of history, since the Flood, as to what will occur during the Tribulation. The Book of Revelation does not reveal details of what exactly happens during the Beast’s rule, but it will be dreadful.
The Church has always known distress and suffered for its faith. 1 Thessalonians 3:4 – “For indeed when we were with you, we kept telling you in advance that we were going to suffer affliction; and so it came to pass, as you know.” 2 Timothy 3:12 – “Indeed, all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will be persecuted.”
Stephen, the first Christian martyr, was stoned to death during the earliest years of the Church.
The Jews and Romans incessantly persecuted the Early Church. We’ve all heard of the Christians being thrown to the lions in the Roman Colosseum.
The Spanish Inquisition lasted from 1478 – 1834.
Foxe’s Book of Martyrs, published in 1563, is a huge volume writing about Christian martyrs’ trials and tribulations.
There was the persecution of the French Huguenots in the 16-17 centuries.
Those are just a few.
Based on Daniel’s writing, all of these will pale in comparison to what the Great Tribulation saints will suffer, for the name of Jesus Christ.
The Christians of today are NOT prepared. Believers aren’t reading their Bibles to learn the Word of God and the average sermon, not all, is watered down. Worse than that, they are being preached lies. They are being told they won’t have to suffer because that is what they want to hear. 2 Timothy 4:3 – “For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but wanting to have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance to their own desires, and will turn away their ears from the truth and will turn aside to myths.”
Consequently, when the Tribulation of suffering begins, there will be a great falling away.
1 Timothy 4:1 – “But the Spirit explicitly says that in later times some will fall away from the faith, paying attention to deceitful spirits and doctrines of demons.” Again, they are listening to the lies being preached to them by the apostate, false, back-slidden churches.
It’s all playing perfectly right into the hands of the devil and his many ploys of deception. Ephesians 6:12: “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.”
Matthew 24:9 – “Then they will deliver you to tribulation, and will kill you, and you will be hated by all nations because of My name. At that time many will fall away and will betray one another and hate one another. Many false prophets will arise and will mislead many.” The false prophets are the deceiving leaders in the fallen, apostate churches.
Matthew 5:11-12 – “Blessed are you when people insult you and persecute you, and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of Me. Rejoice and be glad, for your reward in heaven is great; for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.”
The Bible promises Daniel’s Tribulation saints great rewards. Included in those rewards will be –Revelation 20:4 – “I saw thrones on which were seated those who had been given authority to judge. … They had not worshipped the beast or his image and had not received his mark on their foreheads or their hands. They came to life and reigned with Christ for a thousand years.”
All martyrs receive the Martyr’s Crown, also known as the ‘Crown of Life’ – James 1:12 – “Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial, because when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him.”
Philippians 1:20 – “Christ shall be magnified in my body, whether it be by life, or by death.”
Revelation 12:11 – “They did not love their life even when faced with death.”’
“That if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation.” – Roman 10:9-10
